46% of Gen Z don't think college is worth the cost, per YouGov.

In a recent survey conducted by Business Insider in collaboration with YouGov, over 1,800 Americans spanning five generations, with more than 600 respondents from Generation Z aged 18 and above, were asked about their perspectives on the value of higher education.

The study revealed that only 39% of Generation Z individuals consider advancing education important, and 46% believe that the cost of college does not justify its value. The average total cost for a public college education in the United States stands at $104,108, while private, four-year colleges have an average cost of $223,360.

Notably, between 1980 and 2020, the overall expenses for tuition, fees, and room and board for an undergraduate degree surged by a significant 169%.
