Jassy's remarks were made during a recent internal meeting, referred to as a "fishbowl" meeting within Amazon, and his comments were captured in a recording obtained by Insider. In the meeting, Jassy expressed his frustration with employees who were not adhering to the return-to-office directive and indicated that he considered their commitment to the company's policies crucial.

Although Jassy did not disclose specific data that influenced his decision, he emphasized that the requirement was a "judgment" call. He encouraged employees who were uncomfortable with this approach to explore other employment options, stating that the company's stance is to return to the office for at least three days a week.

Jassy underlined the significance of alignment within the organization and expressed that individuals who cannot "disagree and commit" might find it challenging to thrive within Amazon's work culture.
