Biden says Putin's nuclear threat is 'real'

Per NBC News

US President Joe Biden has finally commented on the issue of the nuclear threat of Russia. Biden says that the threat is "real."

Biden: “When I was out here about two years ago saying I worried about the Colorado river drying up, everybody looked at me like I was crazy... They looked at me like when I said I worry about Putin using tactical nuclear weapons. It’s real,”

On Saturday, Biden said it was "totally irresponsible" for Putin to place its tactical nuclear weapons near his neighbor and ally. This comes as Ukraine pressed a counteroffensive to try to regain territories.

This comes as the first Russian tactical nuclear weapons were deployed to Belarus, according to Putin. This would be the first time since the fall of the Soviet Union that Moscow would be moving its weapons outside of Russia's borders.

Segei Shoigu, Russian defense minister warned that Ukraine planned to strike Crimea and Russia "with long-range weapons" that the West supplied.

Shoigu noted that should the weapons be used outside of Ukraine, it would mean the United States and Great Britain were now fully involved.

In October, Elon Musk said, "Nuclear war probability is rising rapidly."

Previously, Russia and China said that there were no winners in nuclear war.
