The company aims to leverage the potential demand for the vehicle in densely populated areas, offering a solution to ongoing traffic issues in numerous cities worldwide, all while benefiting from Boeing's renowned expertise in aircraft manufacturing.

In an interview with Nikkei Asia, Boeing's Chief Technology Officer, Todd Citron, confirmed these plans.

Boeing is currently developing an electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL) for this project. Additionally, it plans to incorporate autonomous technology into the vehicle.

Boeing intends to obtain certification in the United States before expanding into Asia. Citron mentioned the possibility of forming partnerships with fuel cell and electric vehicle manufacturers. However, the company has not yet disclosed its rollout strategy for the product, only the expected timeline for its launch.
