Calculator app reportedly coming to the Apple, $AAPL, iPad this year

In addition to introducing new artificial intelligence capabilities, Apple's upcoming OS updates are rumored to bring significant enhancements to the Calculator app. Several reports suggest that Apple is planning to enhance the Calculator app's functionality, add math features to Apple Notes, and introduce the Calculator app to the iPad for the first time.

The rumors surrounding these calculator-related updates began circulating last week, with AppleInsider suggesting that the Notes app will include a "Math Notes" feature in iOS 18. This feature would allow users to "integrate information from Calculator within the Notes app."

Additionally, AppleInsider reported that macOS 15 will include "the most significant update to its Calculator app in years." The new Calculator app for Mac is expected to feature a new "history tape" feature, a redesigned interface similar to that of the iPhone, and updated unit conversion capabilities.

Finally, MacRumors has reported that Apple is set to release a Calculator app for the iPad as part of iPadOS 18 this year. While details are scarce, it is likely that some of the features expected in the new Calculator app for Mac will also be included in the iPad version.
