Carnival Corporation has just announced that it reached a new agreement with SpaceX, bringing the latter's Starlink WiFi aboard a global fleet. Now, the world's largest cruise company will use SpaceX Starlink WiFi for its connection.

As one of the companies of Elon Musk, SpaceX brought its massive ad campaign for Starlink to Twitter, where Musk is currently the CEO. Now, SpaceX is trying to raise $750 million in its first funding round for this year.

The Starlink WiFi will be available on the Carnival Cruise Line and AIDA Cruises brands. The roll-out of Starlink started in December 2022, with the company wanting to expand its use of the satellite internet service to its other cruise brands.

Carnival Corporation owns multiple cruise brands under its umbrella.

Here are the top cruise brands it owns aside from the Carnival Cruise Line and AIDA Cruises brands.

  • Princess Cruises
  • Holland America
  • Cunard
  • Seabourn
  • Costa Cruises

The CEO of Carnival Corporation, Josh Weinstein, gave a statement regarding how their job is to provide joy and happiness to their guests. Since the company offers experience, the CEO cites how important a consistent internet connection has become.

Weinstein: "For many of our guests, it has become more and more important to maintain the type of connectivity at sea that they've become accustomed to at home,"

SpaceX vice president of Starlink sales, Jonathan Hofeller, also gave a statement regarding how the satellite internet connection performs despite the cruise ships being in remote waters. The VP of Starlink sales highlighted how users could share real-time updates with the service.

Hofeller: "High-speed, low-latency broadband internet is critical in our modern age, and we're excited to provide Carnival Cruise Line and AIDA's guests an internet experience that makes their travel even more enjoyable,"

Carnival Corporation is said to have around 100 ships visiting more than 700 ports around the world.
