Survey finds 42% of CEOs say in 5 to 10 years, AI could likely destroy humanity

A new survey exclusively shared with CNN asked participants at the Yale CEO Summit reported that many CEOs believe that the worst could come because of AI. Their findings from surveying top business leaders found that many were worried about the destruction of humanity.
Specifically, the study found that 42% of CEOs believed that in five to ten years, "AI could likely destroy humanity." Yale professor Jeffry Sonnenfeld commented on the findings, saying it was "dark and alarming," referring to what the CEOs thought about AI.
The survey came from the answers of 119 CEOs across multiple big business names. Some of the participating CEOs included Coca-Cola's James Quincy and Walmart's Doug McMillion.
However, it was also found that 58% of CEOs weren't worried about AI, despite 8% saying it could destroy humanity in five years and 42% saying it could destroy humanity in ten years.
Sonnenfeld: “They are like Robert Oppenheimer, before the bomb... These five groups are all talking past each other, with righteous indignation,”
Previously, Elon Musk, who actually co-founded OpenAI, said that AI was "one of the biggest risks to civilization."
Oxford University professor of technology and regulation, Sandra Wachter, said that the probability of extinction by AI was "close to zero."
