Democrats Allegedly Backed Effort to Put a Second Dan Sullivan on Alaska's Senate Ballot to Help Mary Peltola, per New York Times
Alaska's Senate race has a second Dan Sullivan problem, and it was allegedly the plan all along, per the New York Times.
Democrats allegedly backed an effort to put a second Dan Sullivan on Alaska's Senate ballot, against GOP Sen. Dan Sullivan, to increase the chance of Mary Peltola's odds of winning, per the New York Times.
Insiders called it a "ballot composition project," allegedly backed by Mary Peltola's Senate campaign and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, per the New York Times.
Fallout Is Already Starting
President Donald Trump has demanded perjury charges against the operatives involved, saying they lied in federal court about recruiting the decoy Sullivan, and called for Peltola to be removed from the ballot.
Attorney General Todd Blanche said the Justice Department is going after those responsible in court, calling the scheme flat-out cheating designed to confuse voters and siphon votes from the incumbent.
Peltola's campaign and the DSCC face questions about what they knew and when, days before the November 3 midterms, in a race that could decide control of the Senate.
