DOGE is feeding "sensitive federal data" into artificial intelligence to hunt for potential spending cuts

Elon Musk’s U.S. DOGE Service has been using artificial intelligence software to analyze sensitive data from the Education Department, including internal program details and spending records, according to two individuals familiar with the DOGE team’s activities.

The AI analysis reportedly involves data containing personally identifiable information of grant managers, along with confidential financial data, the sources said. They requested anonymity out of fear of retaliation.

Musk’s DOGE team is using this data to identify potential budget cuts at the Education Department as part of a larger initiative to implement AI across federal agencies to streamline operations and reduce spending.
