Donald Trump has just announced he is planning to end all sanctuary cities
Former President Donald Trump pledged on Saturday to resolve the nation's migrant crisis if re-elected, by urging Congress to abolish sanctuary city policies that shield illegal immigrants.
"Today, I am announcing a new plan to end all sanctuary cities in North Carolina and across our country," Trump told a crowd of 10,000 at Aero Center Wilmington, North Carolina.
"I will ask Congress to pass a law outlawing sanctuary cities nationwide, and we will bring the full force of the federal government against any jurisdiction that refuses to cooperate" with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, he added.
Trump vowed that once in office, he would deploy federal law enforcement to cities failing to hand over criminal aliens. "We will hunt down and capture every gang member, drug dealer, rapist, murderer, and migrant criminal being illegally harbored," he declared. "We will get them out of North Carolina and send them back where they belong."
This was Trump's first outdoor rally since September 15, when an assassination attempt on his life was thwarted.
During his hour-long speech in the crucial swing state of North Carolina, Trump criticized the Harris-Biden administration, warning that American democracy would end if Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris were to win the election in November.
