Donald Trump has released a new 'Mugshot' NFT collection this week

Donald Trump has released a new 'Mugshot' NFT collection this week.

"In light of the overwhelming excitement and success of my earlier TRUMP DIGITAL TRADING CARDS, we're launching a new edition – The MugShot Edition, available RIGHT NOW," Trump announced in a Truth Social post on Thursday.

"Additionally, purchase 47 cards, and you'll receive a piece of the suit I wore for the 'Mugshot Photo,' along with an invitation to a Gala Dinner with me at Mar-a-Lago! Don't hesitate; they'll go quickly (or so I believe!). Your joy is my joy. Enjoy the experience. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!"

Following his surrender at the Fulton County, Ga., Jail in August, Trump had a mug shot taken, which is now featured in the MugShot Edition trading cards. The photo is connected to the case brought by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis regarding Trump's alleged involvement in efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

Trump initially introduced the trading cards in December of the previous year, and the non-fungible tokens (NFTs) sold out within 24 hours. The former president hinted at the new card release by teasing a "major announcement."

President Biden, Trump's potential rival in the 2024 general election, also took a playful jab at the former president during the earlier card release, saying, "I had some MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS the last couple of weeks, too..." and highlighting his policy wins and achievements.
