Donald Trump has said: "for too long, the average American has been squeezed by the big banks and financial elites. It's time we take a stand together."
Former President Donald Trump promoted his family’s upcoming cryptocurrency platform, "The DeFiant Ones," in a Truth Social post on Thursday.
Trump shared the announcement with his 7.5 million followers that morning, and less than 30 minutes later, his son, Donald Trump Jr., reposted it to his 12 million followers on X.
“For too long, the average American has been squeezed by big banks and financial elites,” Trump wrote. “It’s time we take a stand — together.”
The post links to a Telegram channel that has nearly 34,000 subscribers, with more joining. The group describes itself as “the only official Telegram channel for the Trump DeFi project,” which it says is “building the future of finance.”
Trump Jr. and Eric Trump have been teasing the launch of this crypto platform for several weeks. Earlier this month, speculation grew when Eric posted on X about his newfound passion for “Crypto / DeFi” and urged followers to "stay tuned."
In an earlier exclusive interview with The Post, Eric explained, “It’s digital real estate. It’s equitable. It’s collateral that anyone can access instantly. I don’t think people fully understand how big of a shake-up this is for the banking and finance world. We hope to help bring that change.”
