Donald Trump: I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT
Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Sunday to express his frustration with pop star Taylor Swift, just days after Swift endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.
“I hate Taylor Swift!” Trump declared in all caps on the social media platform owned by Trump Media & Technology Group.
Swift’s endorsement of Harris came via an Instagram post on Tuesday, shortly after the presidential debate between the major party candidates. In her post, Swift praised Harris as a "steady-handed, gifted leader" and expressed her belief that the country could achieve much more under calm leadership rather than chaos. She concluded the post with the caption “childless cat lady,” a nod to Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance’s remarks about Democratic women.
Trump had previously circulated fake AI-generated images on social media depicting Swift and her fans supporting him. Swift mentioned these images as a reason for her public endorsement.
In response to Trump’s comment, the Harris-Walz campaign released a statement featuring numerous references to Swift’s music.
“Donald Trump’s week of whining and conspiracy theories has voters from both parties ready to forget his existence,” said campaign spokesperson Sarafina Chitika. “The American people want to move past the chaos and division of the Trump era, leave behind the blank space of his broken promises, and start anew by electing Vice President Harris to secure a prosperous future for America.”
The influence of celebrity endorsements on the presidential race remains uncertain, even with high-profile figures like Swift. Shortly after her endorsement, her Instagram post directed over 300,000 visitors to Vote.gov, a government site providing state-specific voting information.
