Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has reportedly maintained contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin since late 2022, according to a Wall Street Journal report published Thursday night.
The report reveals that Musk and Putin have discussed various topics, ranging from personal matters to global geopolitical tensions. In one conversation, sources familiar with the matter told the Journal that Putin requested Musk not to activate his Starlink satellites over Taiwan, as a "favor" to Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
An individual aware of Musk’s interactions with Putin mentioned that while federal officials are uneasy about the communication, there have been no concerns regarding potential security risks tied to their discussions.
