Elon Musk has said that you'll soon be able to use your Tesla, $TSLA, Cybertruck as a boat using a "mod package," per BI.
"We are planning to offer a modification package that will allow the Cybertruck to navigate at least 100 meters of water as a boat," Musk stated in a post on X on Monday. "Mainly, we just need to upgrade the cabin door seals."
Musk revealed this upcoming feature in response to a post from another X user, Sawyer Merritt.
Merritt shared a video excerpt from the latest episode of "Jay Leno's Garage" featuring the Cybertruck. In the video, Tesla's Vice President of Vehicle Engineering, Lars Moravy, mentioned that the Cybertruck could be enhanced to function as a boat.
"Elon did want to make it a boat. The vehicle almost floats; maybe you have to add a little bit of extra buoyancy just to keep it up," Moravy told Leno.
"If you're creative, and you want, you could figure out how to put an outboard motor, plugged into your outlet there, turn it on from your screen, and go boating," Moravy added.
Musk initially introduced the Cybertruck in 2019, but deliveries for the truck commenced only in late November.
