First photo of Sam Bankman-Friend in prison, from December 17, 2023

Disgraced FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried appears more unkempt in prison, as seen in a photo obtained by crypto influencer Tiffany Fong.

Fong stated that she received the photo from a man named G Lock, a former gang member who was incarcerated with Bankman-Fried.

"These photos were reportedly taken on December 17, 2023, as inmates are supposedly only permitted to take photos on Christmas and Father's Day," Fong said in a video post on X on Monday.

The Brooklyn prison is notorious for its substandard living conditions, with one former warden describing it as "the most troubled facility in the Bureau of Prisons."

In addition to grappling with the hygiene standards in prison, Bankman-Fried also has to find ways to pass the time without internet access, as inmates are only allowed radios or MP3 players.

In November, a jury convicted Bankman-Fried on seven counts of fraud and conspiracy in his criminal trial in Manhattan federal court.

Bankman-Fried, once hailed as crypto's golden boy, could potentially face up to 110 years in prison for the charges. His sentencing is scheduled for March 28.
