Florida had some of the worst ACT scores in the nation this year.

ACT test scores fall to lowest levels in 32 years, per Axios.

The 2023 composite score, an average of the scores for the English, math, reading and science sections, was 19.5 out of 36. This was the lowest since at least 1991, per Axios.

Achievement scores across all age groups have reached unprecedented lows since the onset of the pandemic.

Simultaneously, college enrollment has experienced a three-year consecutive decline. To counteract this trend, an increasing number of colleges and universities have either removed standardized test requirements or made them optional.

Nearly 50% of American parents say they’d prefer their kids not enroll in a 4-ear college, per WSJ.
