Former US President Donald Trump Says Nukes Could Come Next

Per Business Insider

While current US President Joe Biden is sending tanks to Ukraine to aid them in their fight against Russia, former US President Donald Trump said ending the war should have been easy to do.

Donald Trump: "FIRST COME THE TANKS, THEN COME THE NUKES. Get this crazy war ended, NOW. So easy to do,"

A previous article by BI noted that Trump withheld a White House meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine. The former US President reportedly froze around $400 million in military aid in 2019.

Now, Trump announced that he will run for President of the United States in 2024. He has already filed with the FEC to set up an account for campaign fundraising.

The statements of Trump were made shortly after news came out that the US was planning to send 31 M1 Abrams tanks. This comes as Germany will also be sending 62 Leopard 2s, which was the result of efforts made by other European countries.

Now, Trump expects nukes to come next and that the war should end. He also stated that it was easy to end the war.

While Biden is showing more support towards Ukraine, the Kremlin previously said that the US is "fighting an indirect war with Russia." Shortly after, the US President invited Zelensky to the US, where he gave a speech in Congress.

As the war continues, some public officials are saying that it could be hard to reach an agreement this far into the situation. Former French ambassador to the US and the UN, Gérard Araud, shared his thoughts to Insider regarding the situation.

Araud: "The fact that the Russians have annexed four [Ukrainian] provinces makes an agreement nearly impossible,"

Since Russia's campaign in Ukraine, the United States is spending over $27 billion in financial aid. The Secretary of State, Antony J. Blinken, save a statement regarding their plans with Ukraine.

Blinken: "Russia alone could end this war today. Until it does so, we will stand United with Ukraine for as long as it takes."
