FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried asks court to dismiss most criminal charges against him.

Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder and former CEO of FTX, is seeking the dismissal of up to 10 criminal charges against him in court, contending that several counts fail to establish an offense.

Court documents filed in the Southern District Court of New York on May 8 reveal that Bankman-Fried's legal team is advocating for the dismissal of all charges except for three: conspiracy to commit commodities fraud, conspiracy to commit securities fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Despite the fact that other members of Bankman-Fried's inner circle have pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate with prosecutors, Bankman-Fried himself has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

Since December, Bankman-Fried has been under house arrest at his parents' home in Palo Alto. In the latest development, Judge Lewis Kaplan approved the monitoring of Bankman-Fried's parents' phones as part of the bail conditions, despite a request for a revision from Bankman-Fried's legal team.
