Fund Managers Are Piling Back Into Tech, With Overweight Positioning at Its Highest Since August 2020, per Bank of America Survey

Fund managers are piling back into tech, per Bank of America's latest survey.

37% of global fund managers are now overweight technology stocks, up from 30% in September, per Bank of America's latest survey.

That's the highest since August 2020.

Positioning Is Getting Crowded

The jump from 30% to 37% in a single month shows big money rotating back into the sector after a cautious stretch, even with valuations stretched and the Federal Reserve holding rates at 3.75% to 4.00%.

Bank of America's monthly fund manager survey is one of the most widely watched positioning gauges on Wall Street, and readings at multi-year highs have historically marked crowded trades that can unwind fast on a bad headline.

Earnings from Microsoft and Alphabet landed the same evening, giving the newly overweight crowd an immediate test.

What It Means for the Options Market
