Gary Wang and Caroline Ellison Cooperating with Federal Authorities Against SBF, all charged with defrauding investors

This is still a developing story.

As SBF, the cofounder of FTX and Alameda Trading, has been extradited to the US, it has been revealed by the New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/21/technology/ftx-fraud-guilty-pleas) that both Gary Wang and Caroline Ellison are cooperating with authorities against Sam Bankman-Fried.

Gary Wang was the CTO and cofounder of FTX, while Ellison was the CEO of Alameda and cofounder of Alameda Research. They both have pleaded guilty to federal charges of defrauding investors, and are actively working in the criminal case against Sam Bankman-Fried.

Sam Bankman-Fried is currently on a plane back to the USA, he is expected in court Thursday morning.

Ilan Graff, the lawyer for Mr. Wang, said, “Gary has accepted responsibility for his actions and takes seriously his obligations as a cooperating witness.”
