Ghislaine Maxwell gave DOJ info about ‘100 different people’ linked to Jeffrey Epstein

Donald Trump on Friday brushed aside questions about his former associate Jeffrey Epstein, as Epstein’s convicted accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, met for a second consecutive day with a senior official from the Department of Justice in Florida.

“I have nothing to do with the guy,” Trump said of Epstein, despite having been publicly connected to the financier for years before severing ties in the mid-2000s.

Rather than addressing his own past with Epstein, Trump shifted attention to others who had also associated with him, naming former President Bill Clinton and former Treasury Secretary and Harvard University President Larry Summers.

“People don’t talk about them. They talk about me,” Trump complained, just before leaving for a trip to Scotland.

“You should look at Clinton. You should look at the former president of Harvard. You should look at some of the hedge fund guys,” Trump added. “I’ll give you a list. These guys were living with Jeffrey Epstein—I sure as hell wasn’t.”

When asked whether he would consider granting a pardon or commuting the sentence of Maxwell—who is currently serving a 20-year term for recruiting and grooming underage girls for Epstein—Trump responded, “It’s something I haven’t thought about,” noting, “I’m allowed to do it.”

David Oscar Markus, Maxwell’s attorney, was asked by reporters whether his client might seek clemency in exchange for cooperation with federal investigators. “No offers have been made,” he said following a meeting in Tallahassee with Maxwell and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.

Markus declined to say what Maxwell hoped to achieve from her meetings with the DOJ, but noted, “Ghislaine answered every single question asked of her over the last day and a half. She answered them honestly, truthfully, to the best of her ability. She never invoked privilege. She never refused to answer.”

“They asked about every single thing you could imagine—everything,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, Trump has faced increasing calls to release records related to Epstein, particularly after the Department of Justice this month reversed course on promises from Attorney General Pam Bondi and senior FBI officials to disclose materials compiled during their sex trafficking investigation into Epstein.
