Grocery prices rose in July by the most since early this year, and those costs are 23% higher than they were at the start of the pandemic

Navigating the grocery store aisles has become an increasingly daunting task for shoppers as prices soar for everyday items that were once tossed into carts without a second thought about cost.

Staples like potato chips and peanut butter have experienced significant price hikes. The annual core inflation rate increased last month, despite inflation month on month going down in the CPI report, although this doesn't mean that Americans are witnessing a uniform decrease in their bills or grocery receipts. In many cases, the price surge has been even greater due to supply issues and price raising.

Notably, food prices have consistently outpaced the overall Consumer Price Index.
