srael has reportedly requested $10 billion in emergency military aid from the United States, as per information from three officials familiar with the matter, as reported by The New York Times. The aid package, currently in progress within Congress and coordinated with the White House, is intended not only for Israel but also includes funds for Ukraine, Taiwan, and addressing issues at the US-Mexico border.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer mentioned discussions about providing Israel with replacement ammunition for the Iron Dome missile defense system, precision-guided bombs, JDAM kits for turning standard bombs into precision munitions, and 155-millimeter ammunition during his visit to Tel Aviv.
The request for aid comes amid the ongoing conflict that began with Hamas initiating Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, involving rocket launches and infiltrations into Israel. In response, the Israeli military launched Operation Swords of Iron against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.
