Kevin McCarthy has said President Biden's alleged involvement in shell companies reportedly surrounding Hunter Biden is "rising to the level of an impeachment inquiry."

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) recently disclosed that the Republican-controlled House is edging closer to launching an impeachment investigation against President Joe Biden. The basis for these claims revolves around allegations that Biden received millions of dollars in bribes from foreign governments.

The impetus for this movement came after Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) released an FBI-generated FD-1023 form, which indicates that a confidential source informed the FBI that a co-founder of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, claimed to have been "coerced" by then-Vice President Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, into paying millions of dollars in bribes. These payments were allegedly exchanged for their assistance in pressuring Ukraine to dismiss a prosecutor who was investigating Burisma.

McCarthy's interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity further revealed that the FBI had kept this information hidden from the IRS. Additionally, it was discovered that 16 out of 17 payments from Romania were made to Biden's shell companies during his tenure as vice president.

Furthermore, the situation escalated with the upcoming testimony of Devon Archer, Hunter Biden's former friend and a former director at Burisma, before the House Oversight Committee. Archer is expected to provide insights into how Hunter Biden put then-Vice President Biden on speakerphone during meetings with foreign business partners on over 20 occasions.

These developments have intensified calls for an impeachment investigation against President Biden in the Republican-controlled House, adding significant political tension to the current situation.
