Meta announces CICERO, an AI capable of human-level performance in a game called Diplomacy. Diplomacy is a war strategy board game where players must understand motives and perspectives.

CICERO uses strategic reasoning, natural language, and machine learning to become an intelligent assistant capable of collaborating with people.

CICERO placed first in an eight-game tournament with 21 participants. The AI passed as a human player in 40 Diplomacy games against 82 unique players.
