Musk Says SpaceX Probably Gets to Over $100 Trillion in Under 10 Years, Barring a Major World War
The claim
Elon Musk has said that unless there is a major world war, SpaceX probably gets to more than $100 trillion in value in under 10 years.
Treat that number as what it is: Musk's own claim, not an analyst forecast. In the same remarks, he said he expects Starlink alone to reach a $14 trillion to $15 trillion valuation over that period, with orbital data centers potentially becoming an even larger business.
Where SpaceX stands now
SpaceX went public on June 12 in the largest IPO in history, pricing at $135 a share, raising roughly $75 billion at a valuation near $1.75 trillion. Its market value crossed $2 trillion within days of the debut and sits around $2.1 trillion now. Musk's target implies the company multiplying by roughly 50 times in less than a decade.
The growth underneath is real, even if the target is not. In its first report as a public company, SpaceX posted second-quarter revenue of $7.8 billion, up 92 percent year over year. Starlink generated $4.3 billion of that revenue and $1.656 billion of operating income, while the AI segment lost $1.257 billion and the space segment lost $542 million, leaving a net loss of $541 million for the quarter.
Starlink's subscriber base has doubled to about 12 million, and it is the profit engine funding Starship and the AI buildout. For the $100 trillion math to work, that engine has to scale into new markets like orbital data centers at a size no company has ever reached.

SPCX trades around $151 to $152, above its $135 IPO price but well below its highs near $226, and remarks like this one keep its options chain among the most active in the market. The comments also landed the same week Barclays mapped out a possible SpaceX acquisition of TSLA, so flow in the two Musk names is increasingly linked.
