National Guard soldiers in New York have been reportedly distributing tickets, paid for by New York City, to migrants to allow them to settle instead in Canada, per NYP.

A New York City Hall source confirmed it pays companies that run programs for migrants that include “reissuing tickets” so they can travel to other cities, per NYP.

“Last year, Canada was the world’s leading refugee resettlement country, helping refugees lay the foundations and start a new life here,” Justin Trudeau said last June on the occasion of World Refugee Day.

Mayor Eric Adams’ administration pays various companies that run programs for migrants that include “re-ticketing” so they can travel to other cities, a City Hall source said.

Adams has called for the White House to speed up that process and to grant the city $1 billion in emergency aid to help provide migrants with housing and other services, which the mayor has said could cost double that amount.
