Nvidia, $NVDA, CEO says Nvidia to continue to sponsor H-1B visas

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang told employees the company will continue sponsoring H-1B visas and covering all related costs, despite President Donald Trump’s executive order last month that imposed a $100,000 fee on each new application.

In the internal note, viewed by Business Insider, Huang reaffirmed his support for the policy shift and reflected on his own immigrant experience. “As one of many immigrants at Nvidia, I know the opportunities we’ve found in America have profoundly shaped our lives,” he wrote. “And the miracle of Nvidia — built by all of you, and by brilliant colleagues around the world — would not be possible without immigration.”

Nvidia declined to comment publicly.

Huang told staff that “legal immigration remains essential to ensuring the U.S. continues to lead in technology and ideas,” adding that the administration’s “recent changes reaffirm this.”

He previously said on CNBC that he was “glad” to see the executive order. On the “BG2 Pod” podcast, Huang later called the changes a “great start,” but said the $100,000 cost “probably sets the bar a little too high.” He also noted that such fees would weigh more heavily on smaller startups than on larger, well-funded tech companies.
