OnlyFans Reports Over 5,000 Millionaire Creators

OnlyFans has revealed that 5,076 creators on its platform have earned over $1 million since its launch in 2016. This figure underscores the significant wealth generation potential for a segment of content creators within the digital economy.

The Creator Economy’s Top Tier

The company, which takes a 20% cut of gross revenue, also stated it has paid out more than $30 billion to creators over the last decade. This includes $6.3 billion for the fiscal year ending November 30, 2025.

These numbers highlight the substantial financial ecosystem OnlyFans has built, positioning itself as a major player in the creator economy. While the platform is known for its adult content, it also hosts various other creators.

Disparity in Earnings

Despite the high earnings for a select few, the average OnlyFans creator's income remains modest. Estimates suggest the average creator earns between $131 and $180 per month after platform fees.

This indicates a power-law distribution of wealth, where a small percentage of top creators capture a disproportionately large share of the total revenue. The top 1% of creators reportedly earn an estimated $49,000 per year, with the top 0.1% earning significantly more.

Platform Growth and Revenue

OnlyFans' overall revenue has seen substantial growth, reaching $7.2 billion globally in 2025, a 9.4% year-over-year increase from $6.6 billion in 2024. The platform's user base has also expanded, with 4.63 million creators globally and 377.5 million user accounts worldwide.

The company's business model, allowing creators to set their own subscription prices and retain 80% of revenue, has fueled this growth. This model has attracted a diverse range of content creators seeking direct monetization from their audience.

Options market and stocks to watch

While OnlyFans is not publicly traded, the broader creator economy and social media sector remain relevant for investors. Watch for companies like META, which owns Facebook and Instagram, as they continue to invest in creator tools and monetization features to compete for talent and engagement.

GOOGL (Alphabet), through YouTube, is another key player in the creator space, constantly evolving its revenue-sharing models and advertising opportunities. The success of platforms like OnlyFans highlights the ongoing shift in content consumption and monetization, which could influence strategies across the digital media landscape.
