OpenAi has released tool to help tell when text is written by AI.
It has stated that it is not 100% accurate, being able to mislabel both AI-generated and human text.
OpenAI says its new AI Text Classifier can limit the ability to run automated misinformation campaigns, use AI tools for academic fraud, and impersonate humans with chatbots.
“In our evaluations on a ‘challenge set’ of English texts, our classifier correctly identifies 26% of AI-written text (true positives) as ‘likely AI-written,’ while incorrectly labeling human-written text as AI-written 9% of the time (false positives),” the OpenAI employees wrote.
Recently, it was uncovered that the creator of ChatGPT, OpenAI, is now hiring additional contractors to help with its coding.
