POTUS is on the roof of the White House— asked why he’s up there, he shouts back to us through his hands: “just taking a little walk"
President Donald Trump made an unexpected appearance on the roof of the White House, standing above the briefing room in what appeared to be a personal inspection of upcoming construction plans.
Reporters, who had been moved farther down the driveway than usual, were left guessing about the purpose of the rooftop visit.
"Mr. President, what are you doing up there?" one called out.
"Just taking a little walk," Trump responded, raising his voice so it could carry across the lawn.
When asked what he was building, Trump pointed toward the distance and replied, "It goes with the ballroom, which is on the other side."
As reporters continued to press for details, Trump smiled and simply said, "Something beautiful," gesturing with his hands to illustrate the scale.
He elaborated slightly: "Just more ways to spend my money — for the country," emphasizing that "Anything I do is financed by me."
The appearance comes amid news that Trump is constructing a $200 million ballroom on White House grounds, a project drawing attention both for its scale and cost.
