Putin said with Tucker Carlson that "the US Government is killing the dollar with their own hands"

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson recently interviewed Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which they discussed topics such as BRICS, the US dollar, and geopolitics. Putin highlighted that while developing countries still predominantly use the US dollar for trade, its influence is waning due to actions from the White House.

Putin pointed out that US sanctions against Russia have inadvertently bolstered the Chinese Yuan and the Ruble. He emphasized that these sanctions have actually brought BRICS and other developing countries closer together, helping them realize who their common adversaries are. Putin praised the BRICS alliance for maintaining unity and leading efforts to reduce reliance on the US dollar worldwide.

Putin criticized the US for using the dollar as a tool for foreign policy, calling it one of the White House's biggest strategic mistakes. However, he acknowledged that the US dollar remains a primary instrument for maintaining US global influence.

He highlighted a global trend of countries reducing their reliance on the US dollar, even among US allies. Putin noted that US sanctions have contributed to this shift, citing Russia's own experience. Until 2022, about 80% of Russia's foreign transactions were conducted in US dollars or euros, but this has since dropped to only 13%. Putin clarified that Russia did not ban the use of the dollar; rather, the US's actions prompted Russia to seek alternative currencies.

Putin concluded by highlighting the significant increase in transactions
