Many individuals choosing to relocate to Texas are motivated by a more affordable cost of living compared to states like California, a more relaxed lifestyle, and prospects for starting families. Some are drawn to cities like Austin and Houston for employment opportunities.

The average annual income of those moving to Texas stands at $50,565, a margin of only $138 higher than those departing the state. Those choosing Texas as their destination are 68.3% employed, slightly surpassing the 66% employment rate of those leaving, while 25.8% are not part of the labor force.

The majority of individuals moving to Texas fall within the millennial and Gen Z age groups, constituting 40.5% and 29.9%, respectively. In comparison, 37.3% of millennials and 31.2% of Gen Zers are leaving the state.
