The US House has passed the Epstein bill, forcing the DOJ to release the Epstein files
This is a developing story.
The US House of Representatives has voted 427 to 1 to require the Justice Department to release all of its files related to Jeffrey Epstein. The bipartisan measure now moves to the Senate, and would then need President Donald Trump’s signature to become law.
The vote follows the recent release of more than twenty thousand pages of documents, some of which referenced Trump. He has consistently said he ended his association with Epstein years ago and has denied any involvement in Epstein’s abuse or trafficking. After initially arguing that the push to release the files was a Democratic distraction, Trump ultimately urged Republican members to vote in favor of disclosure.
At a news conference earlier in the day, Epstein survivors spoke at the US Capitol. Annie Farmer said they have endured years of “institutional betrayal.” Standing with the survivors, Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized Trump, saying the controversy has “ripped Maga apart.” Trump had previously labeled her a “traitor.”
