Trump Disclosed 517 Trades in August Worth Up to $273 Million, Led by $25M Meta Buy
Trump's August disclosure lists 517 trades worth $74.3M to $273M. Biggest buy: $5M-$25M of Meta on Aug. 21, plus $1M-$5M each of Netflix, AT&T, Chevron and more.
517 trades in a single month
President Donald Trump disclosed 517 stock and bond trades in August, worth between $74.3 million and $273 million combined, according to a financial disclosure released October 8.
His biggest buy was up to $25 million of Meta stock on August 21. That same day, he also bought up to $5 million each of AT&T, ConocoPhillips, Abbott Laboratories, Netflix and Chevron.
The full buy and sell list
The August 21 push also featured mid-tier equity investments of $500,000 to $1 million in Nvidia, AMD, Datadog, Dell, Palo Alto Networks, T-Mobile, Boeing, Home Depot and Church & Dwight.
Earlier in the month, he accumulated $1 million to $5 million positions in Microsoft, McDonald's and Comcast on August 10.
It was not all buying. Purchases totaled at least $44.2 million while sales reached at least $30.1 million. He sold up to $5 million each of AMD and Church & Dwight, while trimming positions in Nvidia, Boeing, Home Depot and Dell.
Why it matters
The disclosure lists each trade only as a value range, so exact sums stay hidden. A Trump Organization spokesperson has said the holdings sit in fully discretionary accounts run by third-party managers, with no input from Trump or his family.
Still, the sheer volume stands out: the 517 August trades followed months of over 1,000 disclosures in June and July. No previous president has triggered this level of securities disclosure.
