Trump Earned More in 2 Years of 2nd Term Than Prior 60 Years

Donald Trump has earned more money in the first and second years of his second term than in the previous 60 years of his life combined, according to Bloomberg. The windfall is being driven by crypto ventures, international licensing deals, and Mar-a-Lago revenue tied directly to his return to the White House.

The Numbers

Reporting pegs Trump’s personal collections at roughly $2.2 billion in the first year of his second term, per the U.S. Office of Government Ethics.

Separate accounting from NPR and New Yorker writer David Kirkpatrick estimates the Trump family has made close to $4 billion “off of the presidency” in about a year, even using conservative math.

Where the Money Came From

In 2024 alone, Trump collected about $760 million, with roughly $60 million from World Liberty Financial crypto token sales, $60 million from international licensing, and nearly $80 million from Mar-a-Lago. Without those politically driven windfalls, the 2024 haul would have been closer to $650 million.

Crypto prices then ripped higher in 2025 as the administration signaled a friendlier regulatory posture, amplifying the token-related revenue streams.

Why It Matters for Markets

The revenue mix ties the president’s personal balance sheet to crypto policy, licensing flows, and hospitality demand. That gives traders a rough read on which sectors have a political tailwind so long as this administration stays in place.

Crypto-adjacent equities and payment rails, in particular, have been repricing to a friendlier Washington posture over the last year.
