Trump said: those who “keep bringing up the Epstein hoax” are “stupid people.”

President Donald Trump doubled down on his assertion that the Epstein investigation is a "big hoax" and ridiculed Republicans who continue to push for answers, calling them “stupid people.”

When asked what new information may have led him to label the Epstein case a hoax — a term he used earlier that morning — Trump reiterated the claim without offering any supporting evidence. He further alleged, again without proof, that the Epstein controversy “was started by the Democrats,” and referenced the Steele Dossier, a discredited report from the 2016 election that alleged ties between Trump’s campaign and Russia.

“Some stupid Republicans and foolish Republicans fall into the net and try to do the Democrats’ work,” Trump said.
“They’re stupid people,” he added, referring to members of his own party who still believe there’s more to uncover regarding Epstein.

White House Social Media Silent on Trump’s ‘Hoax’ Claim About Epstein

While President Trump’s rapid-fire remarks are typically amplified through the White House’s highly active @RapidResponse47 social media account, his inflammatory comments on Jeffrey Epstein were notably absent from the feed.

As of Wednesday evening, the account had posted 49 times that day — including seven clips from Trump’s meeting with Bahrain’s Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa — but none referencing Trump’s claim that the Epstein controversy is “a hoax.” Nor did it highlight his Tuesday comment that Epstein’s crimes were “sordid, but boring.”

This marks a departure from the White House’s tone earlier this year. Back in February, the same account shared footage of Attorney General Pam Bondi telling Fox News host Jesse Watters: “I have the Epstein files on my desk… I think tomorrow, Jesse, breaking news right now, you’re going to see some Epstein information being released by my office.”

Bondi at the time promised flight logs, names, and “a lot of information” would soon come to light — details that have yet to be disclosed, as Trump’s administration now appears to walk back public interest in the case.
