Trump to announce $100 billion private sector investment led by OpenAI, Softbank, and Oracle, ORCL, for AI infrastructure

President Trump is preparing to announce significant private sector investments aimed at building artificial intelligence infrastructure in the United States, CBS News has learned.

A joint venture called Stargate, involving OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle, is in the works, according to multiple sources familiar with the plans.

SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison are expected to attend a White House meeting Tuesday afternoon to discuss the initiative.

Executives from the companies are anticipated to announce an initial commitment of $100 billion to Stargate, with plans to invest up to $500 billion over the next four years. Specific details about the partnership have yet to be disclosed.

Spokespeople for OpenAI and SoftBank declined to comment on the venture.

The Stargate project will reportedly begin with the construction of a data center in Texas, with plans to expand to additional states in the future. Other investors are expected to participate in the venture, though their identities remain unclear at this time.
