Tucker Carlson and FOX news go separate ways, Don Lemon fired from CNN

Fox News announced on Monday that the network and television host Tucker Carlson have mutually agreed to part ways. In a statement, Fox News expressed gratitude for Carlson's contributions to the network and acknowledged that his final show aired on Friday. The network did not disclose the reasons behind Carlson's departure.

The announcement comes on the heels of a $787.5 million settlement agreement reached between Fox News and Dominion Voting Systems. Dominion had accused the network of intentionally promoting false conspiracy theories alleging that Dominion rigged the 2020 presidential election to benefit Joe Biden. Dominion argued that Fox News' actions were motivated by a desire to address declining viewership and retain viewers. Fox News, however, rejected the lawsuit as a "political crusade" seeking financial gain.

During the legal discovery process, Dominion submitted court documents containing private communications from Fox News staff, including Tucker Carlson. These communications revealed discrepancies between the doubts they privately expressed about Dominion-related claims and the statements they made to viewers on-air.

In an unrelated development, CNN anchor Don Lemon announced via Twitter that he has been terminated from CNN. Lemon expressed shock at the news, stating that he learned of his termination from his agent.
