Twitter partners with eToro to add stock, crypto, and charts to the app

Per CNBC

Elon Musk has previously entertained the idea of adding tickers to Twitter, and now, this feature comes to reality with the partnership of the social platform and eToro. This is part of Musk's mission to turn eToro into a "super app."

The partnership will give users access to stocks, crypto, and other financial assets through Twitter through the app's integration of data and information from eToro. The company told CNBC exclusively that it would allow users to "view market charts on an expanded range of financial instruments."

Aside from viewing, users will also be able to buy and sell assets from eToro. This includes stocks, crypto, and others. So far, users can view real-time trading data through the "cashtags" feature, but now, the feature will expand and give users the power to make decisions on top of viewing data.

Previously, users could place the "$" symbol in front of a ticker for the app to get information from TradingView via an API. The new integration will allow users to "view on eToro."

this would take users to the eToro website, where they may buy or sell assets. Yoni Assia, the CEO of eToro, gave a statement to CNBC in an interview explaining the partnership with Twitter.

Assia: "We believe this partnership will enable us to reach those new audiences [and] connect better the brands of Twitter and eToro.”
