Twitter/X has hit an all time monthly users for 2023 at 541,562,214

Elon Musk recently celebrated the success of his rebranded social media site, X, which has achieved its highest user numbers to date. This announcement comes at a time when rival Mark Zuckerberg is facing challenges in maintaining interest in his "Twitter-killer" app.

Last fall, Musk acquired the app, previously known as Twitter, for a staggering $44 billion. On Friday, he shared a graph that showcased X's impressive growth, reporting a total of 541,562,214 monthly users in July.

Musk highlighted the removal of a significant number of bots as a contributing factor to the platform's current success. The issue of bots was a significant concern during the acquisition process, and since taking ownership, Musk has addressed the problem, leading to a more accurate representation of genuine user engagement.

Interestingly, the previous administration had used a different metric, "monetizable daily active users," to assess user numbers, raising questions about the platform's performance. However, under Musk's leadership, X appears to be thriving, attracting a substantial and authentic user base.
