Insurers Could Pay $57B for Damages Caused by Hurricane Ian
Per Reuters
Insurers are trying to assess the damages Hurricane Ian caused while preparing for a potential bill of $57 billion. The death toll passed 80 with an estimated 628K homes and businesses still without power on Monday.
Damages could balloon up to $60 billion but without the National Flood Insurance Program, litigation impacts, or social inflation, estimates on the low end could cost insurers $42 billion.
