US has announced a $250 million military package to Ukraine.

The United States has unveiled a fresh package of military support for Ukraine, encompassing additional air defense and artillery munitions, mine-clearing equipment, and medical vehicles.

This comprehensive aid bundle features additional mine-clearing tools, air defense missiles, artillery ammunition, HIMAR (High Mobility Artillery Rocket) systems, and over three million rounds of small-arms ammunition, as outlined by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in a statement.

Blinken emphasized, "The United States and our allies and partners will stand united with Ukraine, for as long as it takes."

The financing for this equipment is drawn from previously approved funds by Congress.

Since Russia's invasion commenced in February 2022, Ukraine has received more than $43 billion in U.S. military assistance. President Joe Biden recently sought Congress's approval for an extra $24 billion in aid.

While both Democrats and Republicans in Congress have supported Ukraine's aid, some far-right Republicans, particularly those aligned with former President Donald Trump, aim to scale back the assistance.

Despite Ukrainian forces initiating a counteroffensive in the east and south in early June, their progress has been gradual due to the challenging Russian minefields and trenches obstructing their southern advancement.
