Warren Buffett's wife Astrid was reportedly overheard complaining about the price of $4 cup of coffee at 'summer camp for billionaires' in Sun Valley

According to a report by the New York Post, Astrid Buffett, the wife of billionaire investor Warren Buffett, expressed dissatisfaction with the price of coffee at Allen & Co's annual event in Sun Valley, Idaho. During the event, known as the "summer camp for billionaires," 77-year-old Astrid Buffett was overheard complaining about having to pay $4 for a cup of coffee. She reportedly remarked that she could purchase a pound of coffee elsewhere for the same price.

Warren Buffett, the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway and the seventh-richest person in the world according to Bloomberg's Billionaires Index, is known for his frugality. This characteristic was exemplified when his friend, Bill Gates, recalled a time when Buffett used coupons to pay for a meal at McDonald's. In contrast to many other billionaires, Buffett resides in a modest home in Omaha, which he bought in 1958 for around $31,500.

The New York Post mentioned that at the Sun Valley resort's cafe, Konditorei, where pastries, coffee, and brunch are served, the $4 coffee was reportedly the cheapest option available. This cafe, along with a few other restaurants at the resort, caters to some of the most influential individuals attending the annual summit.

The incident with the $4 coffee seemingly took Astrid Buffett by surprise, perhaps due to the stark contrast between the price and the frugal tendencies exhibited by her husband and their overall lifestyle choices.
